Oh my gracious! School has started and for me that means football and a final Senior year have begun at mock speed. I committed to write this blog and post at least once or twice each month. I look up and it’s been over a month since my last blog!!!!
How often do we get so busy doing life that we forget to LIVE life? My past week has included visiting 9 area schools with our guest speaker, Gabe Salazar, a student youth rally for over 600 students at Fields of Faith and catering and helping to decorate for a wedding. Oh and did I mention it’s also our anniversary?
Don’t misunderstand-I love my job! I love seeing kids come to Christ and that moment when they connect and decide to choose a better path for their life. I love serving young people and seeing new love, new life and new beginnings. It is very exciting. But want to know my favorite part of the weekend? When my husband said, ‘Let’s grab a RedBox movie, go home and vegetate on the couch!” Our plans had been to get dolled up and go to this really nice restaurant that we have literally been trying to go to for the past two years.
The next day, to celebrate our anniversary, we did something that neither of us had done before. We went to the Texas State Fair. It was about the time together and sharing the experience, the joy of life and being a part of each other’s lives, that made it special.
So, I challenge you to take time today to focus on what brings you true joy in your life and then relish in that for just a moment. Life’s moments are what make our memories and in the end our memories are our most precious treasures. Make memories today!
