We all love this timeless Christmas classic. As a matter of fact, it’s not Christmas around our house until we have watched it at least once. You can’t help but feel for George Bailey. It seems like he always gets the short end of the stick in life and if anyone deserves a break, it’s this guy. As most of us know the story, George is the most kind and generous person in the sleepy little town of Bedford Falls but his greatest desire is to travel the world! Frank Cappa does a fantastic job of letting the story of George Bailey’s life unfold into this wondrous tale of strength and courage and then ultimately, total reliance on God.
We see this same saga play out each day as men and women walk through our doors struggling with life. When you think about the work that pregnancy centers do, it is very much like being the Building & Loan. People come to us from all walks of life and we give them hope. Hope to know that they are not alone. Hope to know that God loves them as His own. Hope to know that tomorrow will be brighter. Hope that each and every life matters. Our prayer at Wise Choices is that they feel empowered to make life-affirming choices. We believe this begins by choosing life for their unborn baby. When times get hard, and they will, we are not only a source of assistance and education but also for resources and encouragement.
Clarence’s statement seems profoundly simple but is really simply profound. When a mother has a miscarriage, the unfulfilled life of that baby leaves a deep hole. It is no different when that same mother makes the choice to end that baby’s life with abortion. That life still leaves a hole in the hearts of all of the people connected to that pregnancy.
All life…..is wonderful.
All life…..has value.
We believe that it truly IS “A Wonderful Life” and when you choose to give to Wise Choices, you are helping to keep those holes filled!!!!
